The Birthday Massacre – Goodnight

This is a song from the tbm’s new album. Lyric: First place on a classroom wall. Every turn of the face can help to break the fall from a domestic disgrace. Every rumor displaced is lost and found. A lack of discipline. One hand to cut the other. So unprofeissional, You’re not a friend, You’re just a lover. Nothing exceptional. This is correctional. Mirror on the wall. Frame the picture. Reflect this kiss to wish us all goodnight. First day in a victim’s chair. Every surface replaced can help to keep you fair for a corrected gaze. Every feature displayed will match your crowd. A loss of innocence. One hand to wash the other. Be a perfectionist. You’re nothing if You’re just another. Something material. This isn’t personal. Mirror on the wall. Frame the picture. Reflect this kiss to wish us all goodnight. We’re all dancing to the same sad song. And we’re not sleeping, but it won’t take long. Illicit conviction. Confessions incomplete. Correction. Submissive restriction. Instructions will repeat. Direction. Mirror on the wall. Frame the picture. Reflect this kiss to wish us all goodnight.

Massacre in Beijing’s Tiananmen Square 天安門事件 (June 4, 1989)

Posted by admin on Feb 15 2010 in Finance | 25 comments

archives.cbc.ca The images are shocking. Armoured tanks plow into crowds of people, flames from burning buses light up the night sky, and bleeding bodies are rushed to hospital. For weeks student protesters in Beijing's Tiananmen Square have been demonstrating for political reform of China's communist government. A declaration of martial law has failed to quell the protests, and now the government has called in the military. Death is all around as the cbc's Tom Kennedy reports. The massacre begins shortly after midnight as tanks and armoured personnel carriers roll through the streets, crushing hastily erected barricades and into Tiananmen Square. After launching tear gas and using loudspeakers to order people to leave, the army starts shooting. But the protesters fight back, beating army officers or simply standing their ground. They form human walls around foreign press to make sure the story gets out to the world.
